Instagram defines political content as “likely to mention governments, elections, or social topics that affect a group of people and/or society at large.”

Instagram’s broad definition of ‘political content’ makes it difficult for accounts to reach people and for users to stay informed. It restricts discussions on critical issues like climate change, racial justice, human rights, and more. So see below for step-by-step guide on how to change Instagram’s new Limited “Political” content feature.

1. Go To Your Settings

2. Scroll down to ‘What you see’ and click ‘Suggested content’.

3. Click ‘Political content’ and change your setting to ‘Don’t limit’.
