When I was 14 I got my first job at a [redacted] Italian restaurant. Cash in hand $9 an hour! No penalty rates or anything. Very verbally abusive bosses and a very [redacted] business. When I was 16 (I have no idea why I stayed for that long) I asked for a pay rise to $11 and hour and the boss yelled at me and told me to go find another job if I am not grateful for the paychecks he gives me. Eventually police were contacted by another staff member and the restraunt finally closed down! I recently found out that same horrible boss just renamed the restaurant and he still owns it! He is trying to brand it like it is all brand new but it is the same menu, same horrible boss and same horrible practices.
